Daily Itinerary

Day 1 – Friday June 28: JOURNEY TO GHANA

Day 2 – Saturday June 29: ARRIVE IN ACCRA

Day 3 – Sunday June 30: WELCOME TO ACCRA

You are officially welcome to Accra, the capital city of Ghana. Be ready to see the buzzing Oxford Street, change money, relax, refresh and recover from the overnight.

Day 4 – Monday July 1: NOW YOU ARE READY!

Learn about slavery and its impacts from Prof. Ebenezer Ayesu. Prof. Ayensu is a researcher and lecturer at the University of Ghana. His research focuses on Cultural History, Political Economy and Race, Ethnicity and Politics, Religion, Culture and Spirituality in Africa and the African Diaspora. With this knowledge, spend your afternoon at the Cape Coast Castle going through the “door of no return” reflecting on the journey of our ancestors.

Day 5: Tuesday July 2: ADVENTURE

Enjoy the canopy walk at Kakum National Park. It is one of only 3 locations in Africa with a canopy walkway, which is 350 meters (1,150 ft) long and connects seven tree tops which provides access to the forest. Tour Cape Coast, the first capital of Ghana, relax on the beach and have the best coconut juice in the whole wide world.

Day 6 –  Wednesday July 3: FUN DAY

Learn how to cook the famous Jollof rice. A delicacy that continue to cause the what is known as “Jollof Rice War” primarily in West Africa region. You can take Twi lesson to get a pass a Ghanaian. We are also going to learn some Ghanaian and Africa dances moves.  

Day 7 – Thursday July 4: SENCHI

Learn about governance in Ghana and how the traditional system runs alongside the democratic government.  Meet with Chiefs and Queen mother of Senchi and Akwamuman Traditional area, meet Ghana Scholarship Fund (GSF) students, tour the Palace and Museum, visit Akosombo Dam & surrounding township.

Day 8 – Friday July 5: Accra

In Accra, visit the museum of the first president of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Dr. W. E. B. Dubois Museum where you will find the remains of the legendary pan-Africanist, and the art market for your authentic Africa crafts.

Day 9 – Saturday July 6: FREE DAYS TO EXPLORE ACCRA ON YOUR OWN

Judging for yourself, this is the day to do something memorable.  

Day 10 – Sunday July 7: Depart for the United States
